WARRANTY

STEEL & WIRE — BarrierBoss 40-Year Warranty on the core wire and finish. Dual-layer protection: Class 3 heavy-galvanized zinc applied AFTER welding (150 gsm — the heaviest standard class; competitors electro-galvanize with a fraction of the zinc) + heavy-duty fluidized dip-coat on top
CORTEN OPTIONS — Bare weathering steel; the natural rust patina is intentional and protective (no coating warranty applies)
TREATED LUMBER (Framed Options) — Kiln-Dried, Copper-Azole Pressure-Treated; Lifetime Limited Warranty against structural failure from fungal decay or termite damage — ground-contact and above-ground retention classes, when installed per applicable building codes. Field cuts must be sealed with two coats of a copper-based end-cut preservative (min. 1% copper) to maintain coverage
WESTERN RED CEDAR (Framed Options) — Kiln-Dried; naturally decay- and insect-resistant; 10-Year Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects and premature structural decay
FACTORY ASSEMBLY — 5-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty
CARE — We recommend maintaining exposed wood with Stain & Seal Experts oil-based penetrating stain (available from BarrierBoss) to extend its life and keep the finish looking new
INSTALLATION — Proper installation is the installer's responsibility: correct concrete mix, post-hole diameter and depth for your soil and frost line, and panels set square, plumb and level. Damage or premature wear from improper installation is not covered
MODIFICATIONS — Cutting, drilling or altering the steel exposes unprotected edges and voids the steel & coating warranty on the modified component. Need a custom size? We cut to order — ask us before you cut
Natural weathering, checking and minor warping of wood are normal characteristics — not defects

Description

Brown Cattle Panels for Stylish Yards and Livestock

Why Choose BarrierBoss Brown Cattle Panels

BarrierBoss Brown Cattle Panels provide exceptional strength and versatility for both residential and commercial projects. Crafted from 6-gauge hot-dipped heavy galvanized steel and finished with a robust brown fluidized dip-coat, these cattle panels can be framed with KDBT lumber or Western Red Cedar to ensure lasting durability and a stylish, timeless appearance.

Pro Tip: Customize your cattle panels with specific mesh openings to achieve the ideal mix of privacy, visibility, and style—suitable for everything from livestock pens to contemporary yard divisions.

Durable, Versatile, and Stylish Cattle Panels

BarrierBoss Brown Cattle Panels are designed for maximum strength, long-lasting performance, and visual appeal. Each panel, whether framed or unframed, is built with 6-gauge hot-dipped heavy galvanized steel wire and coated with a brown fluidized dip-coat, making it stronger than standard 8-gauge panels and highly resistant to rust, chipping, and fading.

Looking at framing options? KDBT (Kiln Dried Before Treatment) lumber offers exceptional stability and a smooth honey-brown finish, while Western Red Cedar provides a timeless, natural look. Both can be painted or stained to match your outdoor design.

Our panels come in multiple standard sizes, including 3’x6’, 4’x6’, 6’x8’, and up to 8’x8’, with custom sizes available to fit your project needs. Mesh openings range from 1" x 1" to 4" x 4", giving you flexibility for livestock containment, garden enclosures, or modern yard layouts.

Installation is straightforward for both DIYers and professional contractors. Premade panels, framed or unframed, ensure quick setup and consistent results across any property. The dip-coat finish enhances weather resistance and preserves panel structure, reducing long-term maintenance.

Environmentally conscious? Our steel wire is fully recyclable, and wood framing is responsibly sourced, making these panels a sustainable option for your fencing projects.

Did You Know? BarrierBoss dip-coated cattle panels provide stronger protection than dip-coated options, delivering a thicker, more durable finish that boosts both lifespan and structural strength.

Deep Dive Into Cattle Panels for Fencing

Technical Specifications

Wire gauge by mesh size Our 2″ × 2″ and 4″ × 4″ mesh panels are built from 6-gauge (4.88 mm) hot-dipped galvanized steel. Our 1″ × 1″ mesh panels are built from 10-gauge wire (~3 mm bare, ~4 mm after dip-coating) — the heaviest wire commonly produced in a 1″ opening (industry standard for 1″ × 1″ is 12-gauge, so our 10-gauge runs heavier than the market). 6-gauge isn’t manufactured in 1″ × 1″ grids anywhere in the industry — a 6′ × 8′ panel at that weight would run 55–60 kg, outside practical fencing range.
Wire Gauge 6-gauge (4.88mm) heavy-duty welded steel

Frame Options Unframed, Pressure Treated wood frame, or Western Red Cedar frame

Galvanized After Welding — Why Our Welds Don't Rust

Every BarrierBoss panel is Class 3 heavy galvanized — 150 gsm of zinc, the heaviest standard wire galvanizing class — applied AFTER welding, then sealed in our heavy-duty dip-coat. Welds are the natural weak point of any welded panel: typical competitor panels are welded from pre-galvanized wire, which burns the zinc off every wire intersection and leaves hundreds of bare-steel points hiding under a thin dip-coated. That's where they rust first. Our zinc goes on after the welds are made, so the entire panel — welds included — carries full protection. It's the reason we back the wire and finish for 40 years, nearly three times the coverage of leading hog wire competitors.
