The BarrierBoss Warranty

Every BarrierBoss product is covered component-by-component, so you know exactly what's protected and for how long. Warranties apply to the original purchaser, with proof of purchase, for products used as intended.

Coated Steel & Wire — 40-Year Warranty

All wire products (hog wire, cattle panel, deck railing) carry a 40-year warranty on the core wire and finish, protected by dual-layer coating: Class 3 heavy-galvanized zinc applied after welding (150 gsm — the heaviest standard galvanizing class) plus a heavy-duty fluidized dip-coat. That's two layers of protection where powder-coat-only competitors have one — and at 40 years, our coverage runs nearly three times longer than the 15-year warranty offered by the leading hog wire competitor. Painted steel panels (corrugated, ribbed/deep groove) carry a 40-year warranty on the steel and factory paint finish.

Corten Weathering Steel

Corten products are covered by a 40-year warranty on the weathering steel itself. Corten is intentionally uncoated — its natural rust patina forms a protective layer and is a feature of the product, not a defect.

316 Stainless Steel — 40-Year Warranty

Marine-grade 316 stainless panels carry a 40-year warranty on the stainless steel. There is no coating to fail — the corrosion resistance is in the steel itself.

Zero-Maintenance All-Metal Systems — Limited Lifetime

Zero-Maintenance fence kits and gates carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the steel frame, infill and factory finish — coverage matched to premium aluminum fence systems. No wood to stain, seal or replace.

Treated Lumber — Lifetime Limited

Our framing lumber is kiln-dried and copper-azole pressure-treated to ground-contact and above-ground retention classes, covered by a Lifetime Limited Warranty against structural failure from fungal decay or termite damage when installed in accordance with applicable building codes. Factory cut ends are sealed in production; any field cuts must be sealed with two coats of a copper-based end-cut preservative (minimum 1% copper) to maintain coverage. Remedy covers replacement of the affected wood component.

Western Red Cedar — 10-Year Limited

Our cedar is kiln-dried and naturally decay- and insect-resistant, covered by a 10-Year Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects and premature structural decay.

Factory Assembly — 5-Year Workmanship

Factory-assembled framed panels, gates and kits carry a 5-year limited workmanship warranty on the assembly itself.

Specialty Products

  • Hog Panel Track Kits — 40-year warranty on the steel tracks and dip-coating finish.
  • BarrierGuard GroundLine Sleeve — 20-year warranty against ground-line rot when correctly heat-applied to a pressure-treated wood post.
  • Barrel Sauna — 5-year limited residential warranty on the structure (heater carries its own manufacturer warranty).
  • Corten Trough Planters — 2-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects.

Proof, Not Promises — Why Our Products Outlast Their Warranty

Zinc mass is the longevity math. Our wire carries a 150 gsm zinc coating — far above typical fence-wire galvanizing. Zinc protects steel sacrificially and corrodes at a slow, well-documented rate, which is why coating mass is the industry's standard predictor of service life: more zinc, more decades. Class 3 is the heaviest standard wire galvanizing class — competitors' electro-galvanized wire carries a fraction of the zinc. On top of that zinc sits a heavy-duty fluidized dip-coat, so the zinc itself spends most of its life sealed away from the weather entirely — two layers where powder-coat-only competitors have one.

Galvanized AFTER welding. On most welded panels, every weld burns through the coating and becomes the first rust point. Ours are Class 3 heavy-galvanized after welding, so the welds — the weak point on competitor panels — are protected like everything else. Most competitors electro-galvanize: a coating measured in single-digit microns that can carry less than a tenth of the zinc.

Built for salt. Salt-spray endurance is driven by zinc mass and barrier layers — and our dual-layer system stacks the heaviest standard galvanizing class under a sealed dip-coat, a construction engineered to far outlast single-layer powder-coat systems in salt exposure. Our coated wire has been through accelerated salt-exposure testing; full test details available on request.

Copper-azole treated lumber is one of the most field-proven preservative systems in existence, with decades of independent in-ground test data behind it — it's the same treatment class stocked by major Canadian and U.S. lumber yards, and our supply carries the treater's own lifetime residential warranty.

316 stainless is the marine-grade standard specified for boat fittings and coastal architecture — its corrosion resistance is alloyed into the steel, not coated on.

Corten weathering steel is the same material trusted in bridges and architectural facades for 50+ years — its patina is the protection.

Caring for Your Wood

Exterior wood weathers — checking, graying and minor warping are normal characteristics of a natural material, not defects. To extend the life of exposed wood and keep the finish looking new, we recommend maintaining it with Stain & Seal Experts oil-based penetrating stain, available from BarrierBoss.

Installation Responsibility

Proper installation is the responsibility of your installer: correct concrete mix, post-hole diameter and depth for your soil and frost line, and panels set square, plumb and level. Damage or premature wear caused by improper installation is not covered. For wood posts, we recommend pairing with the BarrierGuard GroundLine Sleeve for sealed ground-line protection.

What's Not Covered

  • Normal weathering, fading from UV exposure on natural wood, checking and minor warping
  • Damage from improper installation, misuse or impact
  • Modified steel: cutting, drilling or altering steel components exposes unprotected edges and voids the steel & coating warranty on the modified piece — need a custom size? We cut to order, just ask
  • Acts of nature beyond design loads (falling trees, vehicle strikes, floods)
  • Products used in commercial or industrial applications, unless agreed in writing

Making a Claim

Email our team with your order number, photos of the issue, and a short description. We'll assess and, where covered, repair, replace or credit the affected component at our discretion. Warranty coverage applies to the product component — removal, reinstallation and freight may be excluded.
